Since her debut over 30 years ago, she has delivered an incredibly rich discography, spreading our common cultural heritage all over the world. She has also (to put it mildly) been honored for this - with buckets and buckets of Spellemannsprize (including the honorary prize), Rockheim Hall of Fame, the Nordic Council's Music Prize, the Sami Council's Honorary Prize, Knight of the 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav, the Ole Vig Prize , Finmark Fylkes Kulturpris, Anders Jahre's Kulturpris, honorary doctorate, appointed state scholarship holder and much more - a list that can take most people's breath away.

Mari Boine creates music on the borderland between Sami and other folk music, rock and jazz, and delivers live performances that can take everyone's breath away, in trio or full band format.
